Audi content engine

The Audi Content Engine was developed for use at a number of Audi piloted driving labs, events that allowed participants to experience fully autonomous driving firsthand. The project itself was conceived by Kram/Weisshaar, and we were involved in the design and development of the public facing website for the piloted driving events, the content management and mailing system, and the templates for personalised participant web pages and emails.

Audi’s piloted driving labs took place at the Ascari and Castelloli race tracks in Spain, and at Sonoma race track in California, USA. At the events, an Audi RS 7 driverless concept car safely carried passengers round the circuits, controlled entirely by its software, reaching racing speeds of up to 220 km/h. A number of onboard cameras recorded throughout the ride to capture the whole experience.

At the end of the trip, the raw videos collected by the cameras were edited into one, shorter clip and uploaded to YouTube, where the finished video was embedded into a personalised page. Each participant was then emailed a link to their own, particular page, and encouraged to spread the word by sharing their video on social media.

The same system was also used for the launch of the new Audi Q7 SUV, during which customers were invited to try out the vehicle’s all-terrain capabilities around a special track. Again, the whole experience was recorded, and the video shared with each of the participants.
